The four
major clans have divided up the allocated 44 seats for the
proposed Transitional National Assembly (TNA), but sub-clans
are in dispute over individual candidates, sources at the
Djibouti-hosted Somali National Peace Conference told IRIN.
The naming
of individuals within the sub-clan quotas has led to "fists
and sticks", the source said.
The Digil-Mirifle
- the last main clan group to hand in a list for the TNA -
has come to agreement over two competing lists.
Djiboutian
President Ismael Omar Guelleh has insisted that the TNA hold
its first sitting on Sunday.
Once
the TNA is seated, "the real task of power sharing will begin",
one delegate told IRIN.
The delegate
predicted that the election of a prime minister and president
would be even more difficult than the lengthy process of electing
a parliament.
The prime
minister and president will be elected by the TNA.
