A Letter of Protest to Hiiraan Webmasters

We, at webmasters perplexed and shocked to come to the notice that an article which appeared on our website under the title of NAIROBI PEACE TALKS DOES NOT CONVINCE EVERY SOMALI ( ) BY M.M.AFRAH on (5 – 08 - 02) have been plagiarized word for word by some one who signed his name as Mohamed Dahir and which appeared on your website ( ) which was considered as one of the reliable Somali websites.

As a webmaster, you have the duty to take appropriate steps against people who masquerade as writers but who fraglantly steal other people’s intellectual properties, without regard to the international copy right laws.

You remained silent instead of dealing this copy right violations even after the original author emailed to you requesting you to redress this shameful and unprecedented copy right violation.

This act of plagiarism will not serve a useful purpose in our effort to inform and educate our people. Rather it will sow the seeds of hatred and mistrust amoung Somali webmasters, contributors and the public at large at this time of national concern.

We urgently expect full explanation, including an apology and the removal of the said article from your website. And also a letter of reprimand to the plagiarizer as a signal not to repeat this shameful act in future.
