At least four persons including a woman have been wounded after an explosion rocked Marka

A hand grenade thrown at a model truck has shocked local residents in Port town of Merca, Shabelle news reported.

Health sources confirmed that four civilians, among them a woman, were wounded and rushed to nearby medical centres.

Sources in the hospital told Shabelle that one person suffered critical wounds.

The explosion also caused damage to property, particularly the truck that had been targeted and a house near by.

A tea sales woman at the scene told Shabelle News that a hand grenade was thrown while no one has claimed responsibility.

Meanwhile, deputy chairman of lower Shabelle region has declined to comment about the incident.

Itsí the sixth attack in the city in the last few months, and analysts say it may be a sign of a growing uprising in the region.
