In a
letter to the Djibouti president, Mogadishu-based faction
leader Hussein Mohamed Aideed said he would not attend the
Djibouti-hosted Somali peace talks as it excluded organisations
that had fought for "justice" and included corrupt former
officials and extremist Islamic groups.
He thanked
President Ismael Omar Gelleh for sending a special delegation
to Mogadishu, but said that those attending the conference
were "our political rivals" and no place was left for him
and his Somali National Alliance movement.
