Over 50
Somali people from Somali communities abroad who have been
away for the past 10 years and returned recently, have expressed
their concern over the increasing insecurity in Mogadishu.
Hasan
Shaykh Ahmad Ade, gives the details: [Ade] At a meeting they
held in Mogadishu, the Somali communities from Europe and
America said they were very concerned about the senseless
killings and clashes that are on the rise in Mogadishu city.
The nostalgia
we had for our country and foreign cultures were the main
reason for us and our children returning to Somalia, said
Abdi Ali Magan who spoke on behalf of the community.
He added
that poor security was forcing them to stay with their children
in small hotels in Mogadishu... Other members who also spoke
at the meeting said the establishment of the Transitional
National Government [TNG] had convinced many [Somali] people
abroad to pack their luggage and return home to participate
in reconstructing and developing their country.
They appealed
to Mogadishu residents to foster security and support the
TNG in establishing peace in the country.
