PRESS RELEASE: Somali Concern Group

Somali Concern Group (SCG) would like to express our deep sorrow at the tragic event that have taken place last night in Mogadishu and would like to send our condolences to the family of Abulkadir Yahye who passed away last night in the hands of evil armed men in Mogadishu. We express our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends and condemn in the strongest terms such outrageous act against humanity.

Abdulkadir Yahye will be missed by all of us who appreciate his professionalism and the fact that he devoted his life to Somalia as he was co-chairman of Centre for Research and Dialogue and he went the extra mile to reach Somalis who desperately need peace, stability, prosperity and above all a freedom from militia groups. This was an attack of all of us and who ever behind it should be held accountable and punished. We are mourning for Abdulkadir Yahye and our deepest condolences to the families, colleagues and friends of Abdulkadir Yahye.

We urge that all Somalis to stand up and condemn this barbaric act that happened to Abdulkadir. We also ask Somalis to find whoever behind this evil act and to bring a justice in order to stop that such activities take place in Somali soil, so that a feeling of justice is achieved.
